Frontier Day 7

Fourth of July

The last day of camp the chef has an incredible brunch. Bryan left brunch a little early so he could go to clinic and clean things up. Everyone was out of isolation and we planned on discontinuing the Tamiflu that evening. The camp staff was in good spirits and so were we.

The kids and I went to the Kachina to watch the week's video. Bryan came in with his stethoscope hanging from his neck, he summoned me outside. There were 15 campers with fever and he was shutting the camp down.

I couldn't believe it. I started recording fevers and symptoms with him. Hogan (isolation cabin) was re-opened. The campers were supposed to leave around 7:00pm, but we were pushing it up so no more staff members would be in contact with the flu.

The best part of camp is the last day when they have the "Say So." This is a time where anyone who decided to begin a relationship with God, "Say's so" in front of their peers. Its a tear jerking moment when you get to see how God is real and working.

Bryan did not want the kids to be in close contact, so the team decided to do an outdoor club/say so. It started off awesome. On the side of mountain, with a perfect view we were singing songs and then it started to rain. Lightening was off in the distance and we quickly retreated back to the Kachina. Bryan had his mask of course to make the team laugh. The kids did their "Say So," and everyone said good-bye.

The camp cleared out everyone and the summer staff and work crew started their clean-up. They work so incredibly hard and it is all volunteer work. Incredible servants.

That evening we had a 4th of July party. They put up lights, had games, a parade, bbq, and a dance. It was the best 4th of July I have ever had.

The Strader's send a huge thank you out to the people of Young Life and Frontier Ranch.
