We headed up the trail at 0830 with 250 students and about 25 leaders. The weather was wonderful and everyone made it up the 13,000 ft mountain. There was fresh snow on top and the Continental Divide was breath taking. If you have never made it to the Rockies, I highly suggest it.
On the way down I bonded with some of the assigned team members. The women all had to go to the bathroom and they shielded each other while they took turns doing what they had to do. My bladder was distended, but peeing outside on the side of a mountain wasn't possible. We were way above the tree line. No where to hide, just rocks and dirt. A half an hour later I could no longer take it and I allowed the women to shield me as I did what I had to do. I am a true outdoors woman now. I can pee outside, just not sleep outside.
We arrived back at camp about 3:30. My legs hurt and there is something about the mountain air that lulls you into sleep. No Ambien needed up here. Bryan and the kids just left for Club. I decided to stay back and rest. The air feels and smells so good that I have been leaving our door cracked enjoying nature.
Nature just got a little too friendly. A mouse just ran across the fire place hearth. After screaming, I threw a fruit loop his way in order to try to get him interested in going outside. Presently he is savouring his fruit loop and not going anywhere. I just made a trail of popcorn, but he seems uninterested. I hate rodents. I think it is the ghost of the gerbils coming back to haunt me.
I am stuck on this chair with nothing but this PC till Bryan returns to rescue me.
