Dress Issues

I normally don't blog this much, but I have a story that can't wait for my fellow girl friends.

I left work a bit early today and ran to my favorite store Talbot's. I had to return a few things and I wanted to "look" around. I love dresses. I would wear one everyday if I had enough. Today I found the cutest A-line orange linen dress.

As I looked through the sizes I decided not to disappoint myself and try on my true size.. Normally I try for my old smaller size and then I am distraught the rest of the day. To my complete surprise it was too big. YEA!!! The sales lady asked if I needed anything and I said "yes, could you get this in a size smaller." It felt so good to say that.

She returned a moment later with a dress 2 sizes smaller. She said "try this one, we don't have the size you wanted." I laughed and said I don't think my body will fit into that. I wasn't going to try it on, but I loved the dress enough to give it a shot.

Oh my.... it fit perfect. I looked good and felt good. The only problem was the side zipper was a bit tight right under my arm by the rib cage. I didn't care, it wasn't tight on my bootie or hips. Excited I showed my sales lady and she confirmed how great it was. She left to find me a sweater to go over it.

Meanwhile an older sales lady walks back and comments on how cute it is. I stupidly showed her the arm pit issue and she said "oh, honey... you can't wear that, you need one size up." So she left to call other stores.

I went into the dressing room, took off the dress, and zipped it up completely. Then I put it on over my head and started to tug. I wanted that size dress! It got stuck. I couldn't get it on or off. It was stuck somewhere on my bosom and I could see where because my head was still under the dress.

I started sweating and tugging. Then I heard something that sounded like a rip. Meanwhile the lady's keep coming back wanting me to try other stuff. I try to shoo them away as I pull like holy heck to get the thing off my body. It took me a good five minutes. Luckily nothing ripped.

I didn't buy the linen dress, I bought one made out of matte jersey. Much safer.

I like to go to the petite side of Talbot's just to freak them out with my big girl size. Enjoy your beautiful body baby.
